Assisting and curating various projects at multiple locations – US, UK, and China – I realized that global urbanization has been shaped and reinforced by inequal and unbalanced distribution of energy, resources, capital, and climatic risks.

The concerns of culture, urbanism, environmentalism, and productivism reflected in my projects are the by-products of my multidisciplinary exploration. My exploration allows me to identify the interconnections between these macro-systems, as well as the role of soft, dynamic landscapes amid immortal urban symbols. Nature's alluring power has a deep effect on me, and I see urban planning and design as a tool to make land use more complicated, a mechanism to manage resources that balances efficiency and equality, and a way to give responses to evolving urban challenges with indigenous wisdoms.

During my studies at GSD Landscape Program, my interests lean towards the role of design as a continuous shaping process of “surface”, from my prompts to imagine walking atop a steel net to evoke tensive feelings, to creating a self-determined urban plaza with adaptive utilization and spontaneous gathering patterns, to restructuring the flows of people and water through two pathway systems that connect a park’s urban and littoral edges.
